Hellfire chairman Ian Lloyd picked up an award at this year’s Kent RFU Volunteer awards dinner hosted at Sheppey Rugby Club.
The award for Social Inclusion 2022 was presented to Ian by the county for his continuing work at promoting disability sports and in particular Canterbury Hellfire.
The social inclusion award seeks specifically to recognise those who bring rugby into the heart of our local communities, improving mental and physical health, encouraging equality and diversity, reaching out to those in hard-to-reach or disadvantaged environments, and growing the inclusiveness of our game.
At the awards dinner Canterbury Rugby Club picked up several awards for the great work its volunteer workforce does including national recognition for club chairman Giles Hilton.
We thank everyone at Kent RFU for their support and encouragement of the counties many volunteers without whom we wouldn’t be able to operate and to Sheppey Rugby Club for hosting a wonderful evening.
